Emerson L. Rounds

Emerson L. Rounds, age 87, died Thursday, August 17 at the Epoch Senior Health Care Center of Norton surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Oscar H. and Muriel E. (Emerson) Rounds.

Emerson was born on December 23, 1918 in Boston, MA. He was a Foxboro resident for the past fifty eight years. He was a graduate of Stetson High School in Randolph, Class of 1936. He and his wife, Evelyn P. (Poole) were married at the First Congregational Church in Randolph on July 12, 1942.

He was employed by the Foxboro Company as a Methods Engineer, retiring in 1982. Emerson was a member of the Foxboro Company 10 and 25 Year Clubs. He was a former board member for the Doolittle Home in Foxboro and was a former member and long time volunteer for the Universalist Unitarian Church. He was a member of the Bethany Congregational Church in Foxboro. He was a life long member of the American Philatelic Society and was a part time stamp dealer. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed feeding and watching birds. He enjoyed gardening and story and joke telling.

Beloved husband of the late Evelyn P. (Poole) Rounds. Devoted father of Arthur E. and his wife Carole Rounds of Foxboro and Shirley E. and her husband James R. Thibault of Mansfield. Adoring grandfather of Jacqueline E. Carroll and Daniel A. Rounds, both of Foxboro, Laurie Beth Thibault of N. Attleboro and Kent J. Thibault of Mansfield. Cherished great grandfather of six.

Funeral Information

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, August 21 from 4 to 7 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 22 at 11 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro.
