Bernard H. Denekamp

Beloved Father and Grandfather Taunton-Bernard H. Denekamp, age 78, formerly of Foxborough passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Brockton VA Medical Center surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Bernard and Margaret (Robinson) Denekamp.
Bernie was born in Boston on August 12, 1930 and was a graduate of Boston University. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He married his wife Marlene (Shufelt) at Epiphany Episcopal Church in Walpole on April 11, 1959. Bernie and Marlene celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary just last month.
As a young man Bernie worked for Polaroid Corp. and was a swimming coach at the Woonsocket YMCA. He worked for of 23 years as an analyst specialist for the Foxboro Company. He also worked for Morse Shoe in Canton, Aubuchon Hardware in Foxborough and most recently for American Auto Auction in Dighton.
He was a member of St. Alban’s Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Foxborough. He was a member of the Foxboro Company Golf and Softball League. He was also a member of the Foxboro American Legion Post 93 and was a former coach for the Foxborough Little League. He most recently was a member of the Association at Leisurewoods in Taunton.
Bernie attended the Assembly of God Church in both Taunton and South Attleboro.
Beloved father of David of Kingston, Mark and his wife Maria of Norton, Diane and her husband Joe Gibson of Venice, FL, Michael and his wife Celia of Foxborough, and Darlene and her husband Steve Groves of North Attleboro. Bernie is also survived by devoted family member Liz Chappuis and 12 loving grandchildren.
Funeral Information
Relatives and Friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday May 8, from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxborough. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the Victory Assembly of God, 67 High Plain St. in Sharon.
