John A. Barros

September 25, 1940 - June 13, 2008

Taunton -John Anthony Barros, age 67, died at Morton Hospital in Taunton surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late John and Alice (Perry) Barros and brother of the late Edward J. Barros.

John was born in Taunton on September 25, 1940 and was a graduate of West Bridgewater High School Class of 1958. He attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and Northeastern University in Boston . He and his wife Janet were married on June 23, 1962.

John was the owner and operator of And-Bar Non-Ferrous Foundry in Taunton . He was a Past Master of both the Alfred Baylies Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Taunton and the DeMolay Lodge in Boston. He was a member of King Hiram’s Lodge in Provincetown , and the Aleppo Temple Shriners of Wilmington. John was also a former member of Rose Croix Chapter #79 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Provincetown Lions Club. He was a former member of the Taunton Rotary Club, Middleboro Rotary Cl ub, the American Foundrymens Assoc. and Past President of the Lower Cape Rotary Club. John was a long-time member of the First Congregational Church in Raynham.

John was an employee of the Provincetown Parking Administration. He truly enjoyed spending his summers in Provincetown and Truro with his wife, family and many friends.

Beloved husband of Janet E. (Brimner) Barros. Loving father of Beth and her husband Mark Blakeley of Norton, and Mark Barros and his wife Kathy Noll of Norwell. Cherished grandfather of Ryan and Caroline Blakeley and Meaghan, Eric and Braden Barros. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, June 21, at 11 am at the First Congregational Church, 785 South Main Street , in Raynham.
