Frank A. Quartarone

April 22, 1923 - October 23, 2009

Retired Project Manager

Foxborough – Frank A. Quartarone, age 86, died suddenly on Friday, October 23, 2009. He was the son of the late John and Sarah (Bruno) Quartarone.

Frank was born on April 22, 1923 in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston. He graduated from High School in 1941. Frank proudly served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. Frank has been a resident of Foxborough since 1955. He married his wife Julie (Police) on July 27, 1947 at St. Mary’s Church in Dedham.

Frank worked for over 28 years at the Foxboro Company until his retirement in 1982 as a Project Manager. Frank was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough where he as an usher, lector and former Director of the St. Mary’s CCD Program. He was an active member of the Foxborough Knights of Columbus Council 6063 for over 25 years. He was the Director of the semi annual K of C blood drive and manager and active member of the K of C Farm Stand for the past 20 years. He was also the Coordinator of the Annual Foxboro Company Dinner.

Frank began Cub Scout Troop 70 and Boy Scout Troop 70, both in Foxborough. He was a former Boy Scout Institutional Representative for all Foxborough Boy Scout Troops.

Frank was the beloved husband of Julie (Police) Quartarone. Loving father of John E. Quartarone and his wife Stacey of Carlsbad, CA, Frank A. Quartarone, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Natick and Christine E. Hurley and her husband Lloyd of Walpole. Devoted grandfather of Frank A. Quartarone, III, Christopher Quartarone, Haley Quartarone, Chase Quartarone and Angela Rose Hurley. Also survived by over a dozen nieces and nephews. Brother of the late Guy and Grace Quartarone.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 29 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 30 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxborough.
