Retired Intsrament Maker for the Foxboro Company

Foxborough-Harry R. Rea Jr., age 78, died on Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Serenity Hill Nursing Center in Wrentham. He was the son of the late Harry R. and Clara (Stacey) Rea.

Harry was born in Foxborough on September 1, 1930 and was a graduate of Foxborough High School Class of 1947. He and his wife Jean were married in Boston on March 31, 1950.

Harry retired from the Foxboro Company in 1986 as an Instrument Maker after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Foxboro Company 10 and 25 year Clubs. He was a former Boy Scout leader for Troop 7 in Foxborough and was a former baseball coach for the Foxborough Little League.

A craftsman, Harry enjoyed making model airplanes and even built his own home. He was a sports enthusiast who loved to follow college football and basketball. He also enjoyed watching a good golf tournament as long as Tiger Woods was playing.

Beloved husband of Jean M. (MacQuarrie) Rea. Loving father of Harry R. Rea III of Silver Spring, MD, Robert S. Rea of Foxborough and Bradford S. Rea of North Dartmouth. Devoted grandfather of 5 including his grandson Joel Rea who is in his third deployment in the Middle East, stationed in Afghanistan. Brother of the late Elizabeth Sweeney and Phyllis Billings.
