John Stewart Cameron

Retired MBTA Employee

John S. Cameron, age 66, of Foxboro, formerly of Jamaica Plain, passed suddenly on October 3, 2008. John was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Spencer) Cameron.

John was born on February 3, 1942 in Boston. He was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, Class of 1959. John married his wife of forty eight years on February 28, 1960 at Lady of Lords Church in Jamaica Plain. John was retired revenue agent from the MBTA.

John was a good husband and loving Dad and Papa. He enjoyed playing golf and horseshoes and was an avid Bruins fan. He enjoyed family vacations and trips to Booth Bay Harbor, ME.

Beloved husband of Anne (McGrath) Cameron. Devoted father of sons Dennis of Mansfield, Michael and his wife Jeanne of Foxboro, James of Norfolk, the late Christopher and Robert of Foxboro and daughter Lesley and her husband Dennis of Mansfield. Loving grandfather of Kelly, Christina, Shawn, Katie, Jenifer, Jamie, Brian, Ryan, Nick, Christopher, James, Kacy, Andrew and Emily. Great grandfather of Hailee. John also leaves his sisters Elaine and Joan and brother David and his wife Carol. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, October 7 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 8 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
