Joyce Ann Smith, age 66, died Friday, August 4 at her home in Foxboro. She was the daughter of the late Philip H. and Mary Ann (Conroy) Stone.

Joyce was born in Walpole on July 30, 1940 and was a graduate of Walpole High school, Class of 1958. She married her husband, Chester A. Smith at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole on February 23, 1963She was previously employed as a secretary for the Town Constable of Norwood. She was a Foxboro resident for the past eleven years.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed traveling and crafts. She was a CCD teacher at St. Martha’s Church in Plainville and was active in many church activities.

Beloved wife of Chester A. Smith of Westwood. Devoted mother of Philip Ernest Smith of West Hollywood, CA, Kelly-Jean Robbins of Attleboro and Russell Stone Smith of Newton. Sister of Phyllis E. Williams of Foxboro, John C. Stone of Norton, Rosalie A. Patchin of Plainville, William Stone of S. Dennis and the late Philip H. Stone, Jr. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, August 8 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, August 9 at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow at St. Francis Cemetery, Walpole.
