Paul J. McCarthy

Paul J. McCarthy Sr., age 72, died suddenly on Thursday February 8, in Attleboro. He was the son of the late Charles and Mary (McMullen) McCarthy.

Paul was born in Boston on June 6, 1934 and was a native of Forest Hills. He married his wife Mary T. (McGurl) on June 11, 1955. He has been a resident of South Attleboro for the past two years and a former Foxboro resident for over 42 years.

Paul was a former member of the Painters Union district 35 and a retired maintenance man from the Foxboro public Schools. He also was a lot attendant for the former Scheafer, Sullivan and Foxboro Stadium.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 6063 of Foxboro and the Foxboro Fish and Game. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cribbage. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Beloved husband of Mary T. McCarthy. Loving father of Mary Theresa McCarthy of NH, Paul and his wife Vita of South Attleboro, James and his wife Wende of NC, Jay McCarthy, Sean and his wife Linda, Brendan and his wife Alison and Timothy and his wife Erin all of Foxboro. Brother of Dorothy Couture of Weymouth, Justin McCarthy of Brockton and the late Charles and Donald McCarthy. Devoted grandfather of 18.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday February 11, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. in Foxboro.
