Helen D. Igo

Foxborough – Helen D. Igo, age 85 died Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Serenity Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. Helen was the daughter of the late William Rose and Diana (Beaupre) Rose Brennan.
Helen was born on June 14, 1924 in Providence, RI. She was educated at St. Mary’s School in North Attleboro and was a graduate of North Attleboro High School. She married her late husband Vincent M. Igo on September 10, 1955 at St. Mary’s Church, North Attleboro.
Helen was employed at the Foxboro Company and the New England Patriots for nineteen years in the College Scouting Department. She was a loyal and devoted Patriots fan and in 1986 attended the Superbowl in New Orleans. Helen was a talented artist, devoted friend and loved to travel especially with her dear friend Nicky Roche with whom she traveled the world. She was a charter member and charter secretary of the Foxborough Historical Commission. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough and a former member of St. Mary’s Women’s Guild and St. Mary’s Choir.
Beloved wife of the late Vincent M. Igo. Loving mother of Christine Igo Freeman and her husband James R. Freeman of Foxborough. Sister of the late Shirley Wilmore, William Rose, Jr. and Raymond Rose. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, June 2 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxborough.
