Thomas J. Crimmins

Mansfield-Thomas Joseph Crimmins, age 100, died on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at his home in Mansfield. He was the son of the late Timothy and Theresa (Crump) Crimmins.

Thomas was born in Boston on February 28, 1909 and was a graduate of Commerce High School in Boston, Class of 1927. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy serving on both the USS Ashville and USS Lexington from 1927 to 1931. He and his wife Mary were married on February 8, 1941 at Holy Name Church in W. Roxbury. He has been a Mansfield resident for the past fifteen years.

Tom worked for many years as a postal clerk in Roslindale until his retirement in 1971. He enjoyed following all of the New England sports teams and loved spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of the late Mary E. (Patten) Crimmins. Loving father of William L. Crimmins and his wife Martha of Westport, Thomas F. Crimmins of Sandwich, David Crimmins and his wife Marie of Foxboro, Philip M. Crimmins and his wife Eileen of Sandwich and Marie L. Allen and her husband Herbert of Sandwich. Brother of Joseph Crimmins of Yarmouthport and the late Bertha and Francis Crimmins. Also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, July 6, from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. in Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. in Mansfield. Interment to follow at 11:30 AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
