Edward F. Arancio

January 19, 1940 - May 20, 2006

Norwood- Edward F. Arancio, 66, of 264 South St. Foxboro, Ma a retired business owner, died May 20th, 2006 at Norwood Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Constance M. Arancio.

Born in Boston on January 19th, 1940, he was the son of the late Salvatore & Esther Arancio of Brookline, Ma.

Edward was a graduate of Brookline High School, class of 1959.

He owned and operated a Tree & Land clearing business for many years in Foxboro prior to owning and operating Airport Sport Shop in North Attleboro until his retirement in 1997. He was also employed at the Foxboro Company-Foxboro, Crosby Valve & Co.-Wrentham, and Bird Machine-Walpole.

An avid outdoors man, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, clay shooting, and his passion was auto racing. A member of modified racing crews in the late 60s and 70s, he loved the sport and the people that were involved with it. He loved working on engines and was always willing to lend his help to another team. He was the crew chief of his son’s race truck at Seekonk Speedway and could always be found watching the NASCAR racing at home.

He was a life-time member of Independent Sportsman Club of Foxboro where he had served as President and on the Board of Directors, and Wrentham Sportsman Club of Wrentham.

In addition to his wife he is survived by Donna M. Arancio of Plainville, John E. Arancio of Abington and David S. Arancio of Taunton.

He is also survived by his siblings Dotty Bell of Roxbury and Patricia Moreno of Needham.

He was the grandfather of Kathleen M. McMahon of Attleboro, John Jay McMahon of Plainville and Christopher & Matthew Arancio of Abington.

Funeral Information

Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday May 24, from 4 – to 8:00 PM at the Roberts & sons Funeral Home 30 South Street Foxboro. A funeral procession to Walnut Hill Cemetery in Brookline will begin promptly at 10:15 AM on Thursday May 25 from the funeral home.
