John H. Bower, age 87 died Saturday, February 3 at the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late John and Ruth (Troy) Bower. John was born on February 8, 1920 in Lebanon, TN. He has been a Foxboro resident for the past 17 years and formerly lived in Medfield for 22 years. Mr. Bower was a graduate of Seton Hall University and served as an Ordinance Officer in the US Air Force attached to the US Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Major. He married his wife Veronica (Scarito) on February 10, 1945 at St. Henry’s Church in Bayonne, NJ. He worked for many years in the area of corporate importation with such companies as Allis-Chalmers and Pillsbury, finally retiring from the Polaroid Corporation. John was an avid golfer and bridge player. He was also a New England Patriots and Red Sox fan. Beloved husband of Veronica Bower. Loving father of Ruth and her husband Paul Warren of Lakeville. Devoted grandfather of Lisa and her husband Donald Treannie of Foxboro, Beth and her husband James Farrell of Framingham and Jill Warren of Cary, NC. Devoted great grandfather of Mackenzie and Madison Farrell. Funeral InformationFriends and family are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, February 6 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A Funeral Mass on will be celebrated at 9 am on Wednesday, February 7, at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow with military honors at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxboro.
