Rosemary Elizabeth Newman

October 16, 1931 - August 27, 2010

Braintree - Rosemary Elizabeth Newman, age 79, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Southeast Rehabilitation Center in Easton, MA. She was the wife of the late Warren Newman.

Rosemary was born in Quincy on October 16, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Mary (Bennett) Birchmore. She attended Thayer Academy in Braintree and was a graduate of Braintree High School. She was also a graduate of Massasoit Community College in Canton.

She was a sales associate for Macy's in Braintree and was also a former editor and reporter for the Braintree Observer newspaper. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was a devoted Boston Red Sox and Celtics fan.

Beloved mother of Barbara Herbert of NH, Warren Newman of Quincy, Katherine Crews of NC, Joan Pontius of NH, John Newman of Norton, Paul Newman of Shirley, Anne Otto of Plymouth and Patrick Newman of Weymouth. Also survived by five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

A grave side service will be held on Saturday, September 4, at 11 at the Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree. Arrangements are under the care of the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, Foxborough.
