Francis Edward Donlan Jr.

February 22, 1926 - June 29, 2006

Francis Edward Donlan, Jr., age 80, died on Thursday, June 29 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Francis E. and June (Kaler) Donlan, Sr.

Francis was born in Norwood on March 22, 1926 and was a long time resident of Norwood. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married his wife Olga M. Mordini on June 29, 1947 in Westwood and passed away on their 59th anniversary.

Francis worked for many years for the Norwood School Department and also for the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School. Most recently he worked as a maintenance man for the Franklin Country Club.

Francis was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He loved music and ballroom dancing. He also loved dogs and enjoyed the company of his daughters’ golden retrievers and walks with her dog, Jazzi. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Beloved husband of Olga M. (Mordini) Donlan. Loving father of Patty and her husband Christopher Ienello of Foxboro and Dick Donlan and his wife Dotti of Walpole. Devoted grandfather of Tammy, Dana, Scott, Jennifer, Melissa and Hayley. Brother of James Donlan and Jane Donlan-Jenkins, both of Florida.

Funeral Information

Funeral Monday, July 3 at 10 AM from the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment with U.S. Navy Honors to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
