Donna P. Trefry

Foxborough – Donna Patricia (Downey) Trefry, age 62, passed away on April 29, 2010 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. She was the daughter of (Ret. Col. USAF) Russell A. Downey of Merced, CA and the late Elsie M (Kay) Downey.

Donna was born on March 7, 1948 in Shreveport, LA. She was a graduate of Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, OH. She attended the U. of Cincinnati and Merced Jr. College. She and her husband Robert were married on March 18, 1972 in Merced, CA.

Donna was a retired resident manager for a independent retirement facility and worked extensively in sales and employment counseling. She resided most of her life in Alabama. She enjoyed traveling and was very creative, loved to decorate, entertain, and plan events. Her passion was cooking. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Trefry; loving mother of daughter Jennifer F. and her husband Cody Sumners of Chelsea, AL and of son Brian L. Trefry and his wife Alison C (Gillespie) Trefry of Huntsville, AL., affectionate grandmother of her precious grandchildren Paul and Payton Sumners and Weston Trefry. Sister of Barbara Celedon of Merced, CA and Russell L. Downey of Sacramento, CA. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends was given by Patrick Cintolo and his wife Joan (Trefry) of Bellingham, MA and Susan Trefry of Foxborough, MA at the Lodge in Foxborough, MA.
