World War II Navy Veteran Elmer J. Miller
Elmer Jefferson Miller, age 84, died Thursday, April 19 at home surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. Elmer was the son of the late Elmer J. and Grace (Miller) Miller.
Born in Missouri on August 24, 1922, Elmer proudly served his country in the US Navy in WWII and served as a First Class radio man on the USS Savannah. He married his wife Pauline (Moschera) in New York on April 17, 1943. Elmer was employed in sales and advertising.
Elmer was an avid fisherman and taught all of his children how to fish. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He loved to travel and particularly enjoyed Florida. He was an avid gardener, a great cook, a former pilot and loved telling stories. He had an amazing memory and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Loving husband of Pauline (Moschera) Miller of Foxboro. Devoted father of Suzanne Miller of Foxboro, Robert Miller of Foxboro, Jeff Miller of East Bridgewater, Marilyn Pollister of Foxboro, Paula Rizzo of N. Attleboro, Janis Miller of Walpole, Craig Miller of Yorba Linda, CA, Ronald Miller of Sturbridge and the late Curtis Miller. Loving grandfather of twenty three and great grand father of twenty one. Brother of the late Norma Miller and Tom Miller.
Funeral Information
Friends and family are invited to attend calling hours at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro on Monday, April 23 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 24 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro.
