Dorothy L. Howland

June 24, 1934 - January 30, 2007

Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Dorothy L. Howland, age 72, died on Tuesday January 30, at the Emerald Court Nursing Center in Norwood surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late James and Marguerite (Willey) Gallagher.

Dorothy was born in Boston on June 24, 1934. She was a native of Dorchester and a Graduate of Dorchester High School for Girls Class of 1951. She and her Husband Richard where married at St. Paul’s Church in Dorchester on September 10, 1955.

Dorothy loved raising her children and spending time with her family. She enjoyed the many camping trips with her family to Sebago Basin in Maine. Dorothy also enjoyed knitting and crossword puzzles and had a special love for animals.

Dorothy was a Foxboro resident for the past 28 years and was a former resident of Bellingham.

Beloved wife of Richard E. Howland. Loving mother of James E. Howland and his wife Theresa of Leominster, Linda G. and her husband Joseph Pachomski of Franklin, Michael F. Howland and his wife Cheryl of North Providence, Matthew J. Howland and his wife Catherine of Norton and Mary and her husband Sion Vandervalk of Mendon. Sister of James Gallagher of VA, Elizabeth Nordman of NY, Gerald Gallagher of NH and Patricia Mazurek of MA. Also survived by 14 Grand Children.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday Feb. 1, from 4-8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street in Foxboro. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
