Catharine Elizabeth (Dean) Haggerty, age 88, died Saturday, April 29 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She as the wife of the late William James Haggerty. She was the daughter of the late William and Adele (Harding) Dean. Catharine was born in St. John, New Brunswick, Canada. . She was a member of the Canadian Red Cross during World War II and aided in the rescue of British soldiers from Dunkirk. Catharine was a bookkeeper for the Norwood Laundry Company. She was a girl scout leader in Mansfield, taught Sunday School at Bethany Church, was a lifelong member of the YMCA in North Attleboro and participated in Leisure Learning in Foxboro. Catharine also loved animals. She was a devoted grandmother, sister, and friend. Loving grandmother of Heather and her husband James Cunningham of Wrentham and Melody Gardner. Devoted great grandmother of Shea and Morgan Cunningham of Wrentham. Beloved sister of Sybil and her husband Dario Pavoni of Attleboro. Special friend of Karen Liu and her family of Newton. Funeral InformationCalling hours and services where held on Wednesday, May 3, at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street. Interment services were held at the Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro.
