Devoted Mother and Grandmother

Mary A. (Doherty) Geary, age 83, died on Monday, August 11, 2008 at the South Shore Medical Center in South Weymouth. She was the daughter of the late James and Cecelia (Druken) Doherty.

Mary was born in Boston on November 4, 1924 and was a graduate of St. Johns High School in Cambridge. She was a former longtime resident of Foxborough and Watertown and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough.

She worked for many years as a mail sorter at the South Boston Postal Annex. She was a devoted mother and an avid Boston College football fan.

Beloved wife of the late Paul C. Geary. Loving mother of Paul and his wife Mary of Millis, Stephen and his wife Dorothy of Braintree, William of Cumberland, RI, Mary Beth Geary of North Attleboro, Anne Margaret Geary of Plainville and the late David E. Geary Karen Geary. Sister of Phyllis Sherry of Cambridge, Margaret McClure of Roslindale and the late John, Joan and Alice Doherty. Mother in-law of James Overton of Oregon. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, Aug. 15, from 4-8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. Foxborough. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., Foxborough. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxboro.
