Vincent Albert Brown

Retired General Foreman for L.F. Fales

Mansfield-Vincent Albert Brown, age 89,died on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the son of the late George A. and Mabel (Osborn) Brown.

Vincent was born in Sunderland, England on Dec. 4, 1918. He was life time resident of Mansfield and was a graduate of Norfolk Agricultural School in Walpole. He and his first wife Mary (Medieros) Brown were married for over 43 years until her death in 1981. He and his wife Janet O. (Wood) Brown were married in Hawaii in 1994.

Vincent retired after 50 years as general foreman for L.F. Fales Machine Company in Walpole. He loved to sail and kept his boat at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Station in Fairhaven Marina. He was a certified Navigator and a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also a member of the Mansfield Band Parents and was a Mansfield Little League enthusiast.

Vincent loved to travel with his wife and was an avid gardener who loved to share his vegetables with family and friends. He was also an avid woodworker and made gifts for his family for Christmas every year. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Beloved father of Vincent A. Jr. and his wife Barbara of Norton, Natalie Lima of Norton, Susan Texeira and her husband Dominic of Onset, Alan and his wife Darlene of Hyannis, Shirley Babcock of Franklin and Marcia Kozak of Harwich. Brother of Sam of TN, Donald of NV, Hazel Marvelle and Janice Barrows of Mansfield, Thelma Henry and Muriel Bishop of FL, Alice Elmit of OH, Linda Brown of NH, Marilyn Weir of VT and the late Ted, Gordon, Lloyd, Konrad, Mabel Comeau, Edna Crumby and Cynthia Brown. Also survived by 11 Grandchildren, 3 Step Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 17, from 4-8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. in Foxborough. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 1 PM at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxborough.
