Donald B. Lightbody

Retired Foxboro Company Engineer Donald Blunn Lightbody, age 89, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Serenity Hill Nursing Home in Wrentham surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late George and Lucy (Blunn) Lightbody.
Donald was born on July 6, 1918 in Walpole and was a 1936 graduate of Foxboro High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in WWII were he received a field commission in Europ.. He married his wife Barbara C. (West) in Foxboro on June 28, 1947.
Donald was a packaging engineer at the Foxboro Company for over 44 years . He was the third oldest past master still living of St. Alban’s Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Foxboro and past president of the Foxboro Company 10 and 25 year clubs.
Donald is survived by his beloved wife Barbara C (West) Lightbody and two sons; James W.and his wife Joann of Wrentham and Alan B. and his wife Suzanne of Plainville. Father of the late Kathy J. Lightbody. Brother of Alice Varney. Also survived by three grandsons; James, Stephen and Ryan.
Funeral Information
Friends and family are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, November 28 from 4 to 7 pm at the Roberts and sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A Masonic service will be held during the calling hours at 7:30 AM. A funeral service will be held at the Union Church of South Foxboro, 384 South St., at 11 am on Thursday. Interment with U.S. Army honors to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery.
