Foxborough – Clyde D. Dernier, age 84, died Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Tufts New England Medical Center. He was the son of the late Frank and Ella (Sawler) Dernier.

Clyde was born on October 5, 1925 in Dorchester. He attended Dorchester Public Schools. He married his wife Ernestine “Bonnie” (Shaw) on February 5 1947. Clyde was employed at New York, New Haven andd Hartford railroad and later at Conrail as a track layer. He also worked in Brockton Last Remodeling making molds for shoes,
Beckton Dickinson of Sharon and was a shuttle driver for Claire Acura of Walpole.

Clyde was a member of Easton Jaycees, the Mansfield Civil Defense and the Wetzell baseball team. He was an avid horse shoe player at the Hide Away Cove Campground in CT. He was an avid golfer when clubs were still sticks.

Beloved husband of Ernestine “Bonnie” (Shaw) Dernier. Devoted father of Linda and her husband Robert Burdett, Sr. of Attleboro, Eva Jean and her husband George Crawford, Jr., of Middleboro, Hazel and her husband Ralph Haynes of NC and Gary Fredette of Brockton. Grandfather of Laura, Thomas, Robert, Kristin, Christopher, Katelyn and Sarah. Great grandfather of ten. Also survived by his last surviving sibling, Marjorie Pless of AZ.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, September 7 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 8 at 11 am. Interment to follow at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton, MA.
