Arthur Watson

Foxborough-Arthur J. Watson, Jr., age 68, died on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Norwood Hospital surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. A native of Lynn, Arthur was a Foxborough resident for the past 32 years.
Arthur was born on May 4, 1943 and was a graduate of Lynn High School, Class of 1961. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
He and his wife Ellen were married at St. John Church, Winthrop on September 25, 1966.
Arthur was a retired water technician for the Town of Foxborough. He was the former owner/operator of Art’s Canteen in Waltham and was a former auxiliary police officer for the City of Lynn. His greatest joy was spending time with his loving and devoted grandchildren.
Arthur was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Foxborough. He was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.
Beloved husband of Ellen (O’Connell) Watson. Loving father of Kenneth Watson and his wife Jennifer of Alexandria, VA, Jill Schade and her husband Matt of Cary, NC and Michelle Frey and her husband George of Pelham, NH. Brother of Richard Watson and his wife Mary Alice of Winthrop. Devoted grandfather of Timothy, Colleen, Jack and Benjamin. Also survived by many close brother and sister in-laws.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, December 13, from 4-8 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough.
