Eugene P. Clifford

Foxborough – Eugene “Gene” Paul Clifford died unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 2, 2010. He was the son of the late John F. and Anne (Eager) Clifford.

Gene was born on September 1, 1940 in Boston. He was a graduate of Don Bosco High School. He married his wife Ellie (Rooney) on March 7, 1970 at St. Kevin’s Church in Dorchester. He was employed as a bus instructor for the MBTA for twenty five years. Gene was a Foxborough resident for the past ten years, formerly of Plymouth and a native of Savin Hill.

Gene was an avid reader and enjoyed watching old movies. He particularly enjoyed war movies and was a history buff. He loved camping and spending time with his grandchildren.

Loving husband of Ellie (Rooney) Clifford of Foxborough. Beloved father of Julie Clifford Sjoblom and her husband Ron of Trumbull, CT, Kevin Clifford and his wife Katherine of Bridgewater and Tom Clifford and his wife Laura of N. Easton. Devoted grand father of Andrew and Amanda Sjoblom, Jessica and Joshua Clifford and TJ and Hannah Rose Clifford. Brother of John Clifford and his wife Ann of Quicy.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, April6 from 4 – 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 7 at 9 am at St. Mary’s Church, Mansfield. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
