Hans Albert Stather
November 13, 1934 - October 13, 2008
Founder of Foxborough Youth Soccer Attleboro-Hans Albert Stather, age 73, died on Monday, October 13, 2008 after a courageous battle with leukemia. He was the son of the late Henry K. and Hilda E. (Berger) Stather.
Hans was born in Mannheim Germany on November 13, 1934 where he attended Trade School. He and his wife Mary were married on Fishers Island, New York on October 29, 1955. He was a former long time resident of Foxborough and has been a resident of Attleboro for the past 21 years.
Hans was the owner and operator of Henry K. Stather Painting and Decorating Company in Attleboro for 50 years, he retired in 1996. He started the soccer program in Foxborough in 1967 and in 1998 a soccer field at the John J. Ahern School in Foxborough was dedicated in his name. He was a head coach in the Foxborough Youth Soccer for over 20 years.
He was the beloved husband of 53 years of Mary (Rogan) Stather. Loving father of Susan and Jim Bansfield of Plainville and John and Connie Stather of Foxborough. Devoted grandfather of Jennifer, John and James Stather.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend funeral services on Friday, October 17, starting at 9 AM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxborough, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St. in Foxborough.
