Gloria Gardiner Sawyer

Former secretary for the Foxboro Coal and Oil Company Gloria Gardiner (Gray) Sawyer, age 79, died peacefully at her home in
Foxboro. She was the daughter of the late Howard B. and Leah R. (Gardiner) Gray.
Born in East Providence on September 20, 1925, she has been a Foxboro resident for over fifty years. Gloria worked for over thirty five years as a secretary/dispatcher for the Foxboro Coal and Oil Company. She was an active member of St. Mark’s Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. She was the owner/operator of the former Quaker Hill Nursery School of Foxboro. She was a choral member of the Serenading Seniors in Foxboro and also active in the Foxboro Senior Citizens Program. She was a former cub scout and camp fire girl leader in Foxboro.
Former wife of Forrest Glenn Sawyer. Loving mother of Lynn Mays Sawyer Gibson Mickelson of Bristow, OK, F. Glenn and his wife Mary Sawyer of N. Attleboro and the late Wayne F. Sawyer. Sister of Roselyn and her husband James Marshall of Foxboro and the late Howard B. Gray. Sister in law of Thelma Gray of N. Attleboro. Devoted grandmother of Billy, Ginny, Danny, Tammie, Todd, Tiffany, Glenn, John and Meghan. Great Grand Mother of Amanda, Matthew, Samantha, Suzanna, Billy, Peter, Ethan, Lia, Britney, Glenn, and three on the way. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and dear companion, Gerry Parenteau of Plainville. Preceded in death by long time companion Floyd Tibbets.
Funeral Information
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a memorial service Thursday, May 26 at 11 am at St. Mark’s Church, 116 South Street, Foxboro, with Rev. Rebecca Brown officiating
