John L. Thompson
December 18, 1933 - June 21, 2005
Retired Dean of Students at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston John Leon Thompson, Age 71, A Foxboro resident for the past 32 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 21, at his home with his family at his side.
Born in Boston on December 18, 1933, he was the son of the late Arthur and Alyce (Lambrecht) Thompson John had retired from his position as Dean of Students at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston where he had graduated and met the love of his life Helen. John also graduated from Tufts University with a Master Degree of Fine Arts. John and Helen where married at Pope Pius the X Church in Milton on Sept. 14, 1963. John had worked along side his wife in their graphic design business.
John was a nature enthusiast, enjoyed traveling and sharing his experiences and knowledge with others. He belonged to the Independent Sportsmen Club of Foxboro and was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.
John was survived by his beloved wife Helen P. (Vaisnoris) Thompson, son; Christian J. Thompson and his wife Andrea of San Francisco, CA, daughter Heidi C. Thompson of Doylestown, PA, and sister; Barbara A. Cuthbertson of Rochester, NY. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and the many other lives he touched.
Funeral Information
Family and friends are kindly invited to a memorial service to honor John at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. Foxboro on Sat. June 25, at 11:00AM.
