Donald E. Pike

December 25, 1934 - August 22, 2005

Former Trustee of Bethany Congregational Church

Donald Earle Pike, age 70 died at the Copley of Stoughton on Monday August 22, after a long battle with colon cancer. He was son of the late Andrew and Muriel (Seymour) Pike.

Donald was borne in Norwood on December 25, 1934 and was a graduate of Norwood High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

He married his wife Mary L. (Platt) Pike on April 29, 1967 at the Unite Church in Walpole. Donald moved his family to Foxboro 34 years ago and began DB & R, Inc. Plumbing, Heating and Electrical Contracting which he operated successfully for many years. Donald also owned and operated the True Value Hardware Store in Millis for several years.

Donald enjoyed building, fishing and canoeing and loved to travel to the Caribbean. He was a longtime member and former Trustee of the Bethany Congregational Church in Foxboro. He was a member of the Millis Lions Club, and the Foxboro American Legion post 93. He was also active with Foxboro Boy Scout Troop 7 and the Foxboro Youth Soccer League.

Besides his wife he leaves two sons; Bryan Earle Pike of Norwood and Ronald Andrew Pike of Natick, one sister Susan Heckmann of Bellingham, two brother Gerald Pike of Walpole and Andrew Pike of Olustee, FL and one grandchild on the way.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hrs. on Friday August 26, from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street Foxboro. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 27, at 11:am at Bethany congregational Church, 3 Rock Hill Street in Foxboro. Interment with U.S. Navy Honors to follow at the Highland Cemetery in Norwood. For additional information please contact 508-543-5471
