Edward J. Hughes

Edward J. Hughes, age 91 of West Roxbury died Friday, September 9. Son of the late Walter and Martha Ellen (Edwards) Hughes.

Retired defense contract administrator for the United States Government. Edward was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He played football, hockey and baseball at Hyde Park High School. He also played semi professional baseball for the Boston Braves and in the Nova Scotia Leagues. Umpire and referee for the Boston Park League for many years.

Loving husband of Louise M. (Castonguay) Hughes. Brother of the late Walter F., George, and James T. Hughes and Isabelle Nelson.
