George E. Lightbody Jr.

George Everett Lightbody,Jr. age 83, died Friday, September 9 at the Doolittle Home in Foxboro. Son of the late George E. and Lucy (Blum) Lightbody, Sr.

Born in Framingham on September 21, 1921, he was a Foxboro High School graduate, Class of 1940. George was a World War II Army Veteran where he participated in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theater Campaign.

George was employed for over fifty years by the Foxboro Company and retired in 1983 as a foreman. George was a member of the St. Alban’s A.F. and A.M. of Foxboro, the Foxboro Company 25 Year Club and was an accomplished amateur photographer. George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Beloved husband of the late Eleanor G. (Cote) Lightbody, of 54 years. Loving father of Brian G. and his wife Joanne Lightbody and Beth E. and her husband Mark Ferencik, all of Foxboro. Devoted grandfather of Mark Lightbody of Mansfield and Matthew Lightbody of Foxboro and David and Anne Ferencik of Foxboro.

Funeral Information

Private Funeral Services were held at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro on Monday, September 12.
