Violet C. (McLaughlin) Lightbody

Violet C. Lightbody, age 83, died at the Caritas Norwood Hospital on Friday February 9, 2007, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Rose (Connor) McLaughlin.

Violet was born on November 24, 1923 in Dracut and has been a Foxboro resident for over 52 years. She was a jewelry assembler at Balfour of Attleboro and Sweets Manufacturing of Mansfield. She was a member of the Democratic Town Committee and frequently played bingo at St. Mary’s Church in Norton. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Beloved wife of Chester L. Lightbody. Loving mother of John G. McLaughlin of Plainville, Thomas P. Cummings of WI, Jeannie Morse of Foxboro, Beverly Beatrice of Norton, Loella Fillmore of VT, Virginia Sordillo of NJ, Anne Marie Lightbody of Wolliston and the late Violet Broderick, Chet Lightbody and George DiCicco. Loving sister of John McLaughlin of VT. Also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Information

Friends and family are kindly invited to attend calling hours at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro on Monday, February 12 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 13 at 9 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxboro.
