Doris Jaquith Dean

February 25, 1916 - November 14, 2005

Doris E. (Jaquith) Dean of Canton, MA formerly of Hartland, VT. Born in Hartland, VT February 25, 1916 the daughter of the late Leon and Susan (Fullerton) Jaquith.

She graduated in 1934 from Woodstock Union High School in Vermont. She then graduated from Norwood Nursing School in 1940. She was a secretary for Mt. Olive Rebeckah Lodge for 25 years in Canton. She was also a Member of the Woodstock Union H.S. Alumni Assoc. and the South Woodstock Grange. She was a member of the Dowson Club at the Universalist Church of Canton, MA. Doris loved needlework, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and she was an avid Red Sox fan. She enjoyed returning to Woodstock, VT yearly for reunions with her alumni from high school. She also loved the out doors and gardening. She was a feline and bird lover as well as an avid angler.

Wife of the late Arthur Wentworth Dean, whom she married on March 1, 1941. Doris is survived by her children; Virginia and her husband Edward Giorgi of Stoughton, MA, Susan and her husband Edward Howe of Vassalboro, ME, Paul and his wife Ellen Dean of Foxboro, MA, Malcolm Dean Sr. of Wrentham, MA and Mary Ellen Dean of Smithfield, RI. She is survived by her grandchildren; Arthur Howe, Rachel MacArthur, Ellen Griffiths, Mark Giorgi, April Howe-Gosten, Malcolm Dean Jr. Jamie Dean and Edward Howe Jr. She also is survived by 4 great grandchildren, Jennifer MacArthur, Thomas Griffiths, Aaron Nichols and the late Cassandra Howe.

Funeral Information

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 11 AM at Bethany Congregational Church 3 Rockhill Street in Foxboro. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. Foxboro. Interment will be at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton, MA.
