Devoted Mother and Grandmother Rita Joan (MacPherson) Greenwood
Rita Joan (MacPherson) Greenwood, age 64, died at her home in Foxboro on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Murdock and Margaret (Cameron) MacPherson.
Rita was born in Boston on July 3, 1942 and attended Boston Public Schools. She has been a Foxboro resident for the past 42 years. She worked for many years as a waitress for Bliss Dairy in Sharon and Café on the Common in Mansfield.
Rita was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the bowling league at North Bowl in North Attleboro and enjoyed playing bingo. She also enjoyed vacations in Aruba and was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox Fan.
Beloved mother of Donna and her husband Dennis Fletcher of Norton, Dennis P. Greenwood of Wrentham, Laura and her husband James Carew of Foxboro, Keri and her husband Frederick Hixson of Wrentham and Michael Greenwood and his wife Courtney of Plainville. Loving sister of Kathleen Mitchell of Boxford, Mary Margaret Skymba of Rhode Island, Laura Weckbacher of Hanson, Isabel Keough of Foxboro and the late Alexander, John and Andrew MacPherson. Former wife of Dennis P. Greenwood of Marshfield. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral Information
Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, February 25, from 2-6 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at the St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street in Foxboro. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
