William E. Mackie

August 13, 1949 - July 16, 2010

Foxborough – William Elliot Mackie, age 60, died unexpectedly in Mansfield on Friday, July16, 2010. He was the son of the late Donald E. and Jane W. (Burke) Mackie.

Bill was born on August 3, 1949 in Norwood. He was educated in the Foxborough Public Schools. Bill was the Owner-Operator of J & W Transportation in Wichita, KS. Bill was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 25 in Boston. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, loved playing golf and was a New England Patriots fan. He was happiest while being on the road and meeting new people.

Beloved husband of Denise M. (Powers) Alves of Wichita, KS. Loving father of Sheree Mackie and son in-law Danny Hanlon of Whitman. Loving step father of Jennifer Persico of Taunton, Kyle E. Powers and Korin L. Powers, both of Wichita, KS. Grandfather of Courtney Banks. Brother of Johnny and Debbie Floyd of FL, Donna and Edward Pimentle of Warehem, Jeremiah & Wendie Mackie of Foxborough, Debra and Carlos Escobar of FL, Janie and Dave Higgins of Foxborough, Julie and the late Roger Pleas of Attleboro and Brenda and Wayne Deslauriers of Mansfield. Also survived by twenty two nieces and nephews and twenty four great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 22 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough.
