Herbert Hanson Rolls

Foxborough-Herbert Hanson Rolls, age 87, died in Wrentham on Thursday, February 4, 2010 surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the husband of the late Roberta (Tripp) Rolls and son of the late Herbert and Elsie (Hart) Rolls.

Herb was born on June 29, 1922 in Brooklyn, Newfoundland, Canada. He and his wife Roberta where married at the Mansfield Methodist Church on June 4, 1955. He has been a Foxborough resident for the past 80 years.

Herb worked as a printer for Rea-Craft press in Foxborough. A Bluegrass music enthusiast, he played the dobro in a Bluegrass music band. He loved traveling with his wife to Bluegrass music festivals in their camper. He also was a model railroad enthusiast.

Herb attended the South Foxborough Union Church and was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in Walpole.

Beloved father of Melissa Rolls of Franklin, Vallerie and her husband James Sasso of Wrentham and Darren Rolls and his wife Doreen of Merrimack, NH. Devoted grandfather of Danika, Rachel and Jason Harwood, Samantha King and Melinda and Lindsay Rolls. Also survived by four great grandchildren.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, February 8, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. Foxborough. A memorial service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM. A grave side service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at Rock Hill Cemetery.
