Ruth F. Staples

A memorial service for Ruth F. Staples, age 83, of Attleboro and the late Robert A. Staples will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 11 am at the First Christian Church, 11 Otis St. West Mansfield.

Mrs. Staples was a resident of Canterbury Woods, Attleboro for six years and died October 8, 2007, unexpectedly. She was born on October 25, 1923 in Medford, MA to Genevieve and Charles Goddard. She attended Mansfield schools and was married on January 9, 1941.
She was employed as the first cafeteria cashier of Texas Instruments, Attleboro and worked several years for her brother George at George’s Cleaners in Mansfield. She also worked many years as a medical secretary and had been a member of the Medical Assistants Association of Attleboro.

Mrs. Staples enjoyed baking cookies and fruitcake and preparing for the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Staples also enjoyed many years of camping and in their early years enjoyed playing cards, ballroom dancing and getting together with their many friends from Fresh Pond and Ellis Haven.

Survivors include two sons, Robert L and his wife Karen of FL and Richard L. of Plainville; two daughters, Deborah A. of N. Attleboro and Carol J. of Attleboro. Mrs. Staples came from a family of ten. She leaves brothers Raymond, Thomas and James Goddard and sisters Helen Baker, Lillian Briggs and Genevieve Ronhock; also deceased brothers Donald and George and one sister Evelyn; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
