Foxborough-Richard Earl Brown, age 73, died on Friday, June 6, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. Richard was the son of the late Earl and Isabel (Austin) Brown. Richard was born in Grand Rapids, MN on July 4, 1934. He was raised in Edgeley, ND and was a graduate of Edgeley High School. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. Richard and his wife Mary were married on September 2, 1956 at Blessed Sacrament Church in Walpole. Richard has been a Foxboro resident for the past 42 years. He retired from Texas Instruments in 1997 as a machine operator. He was an avid New England sports fan and was a member of the Foxboro V.F.W., Sharon American Legion and the Foxborough Fish and Game. Past Chaplin of the Fish and Game of Foxborough and past Commander of VFW Post 2626 Foxborough. Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Beloved husband of Mary L. (Costello) Brown. Loving Father of Richard E. Brown, Jr. of Hyannis, Mary Ann Brigham of Framingham, Sandra Davis of Foxborough and Michael Brown of Foxborough. Brother of Victor Brown of CA. Also survived by 8 grandchildren. Funeral InformationRelatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, June 10, from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., Foxborough. Interment to follow at a later date with U.S. Navy Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
