Foxborough-Robert J. Barry, age 76, died on March 13, 2008 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington. He was the son of the late George and Margaret (MacDougall) Barry. Bob was born in Brockton on November 12, 1931 and was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton, Class of 1950. He was a 1954 graduate of Boston College where he earned a BS in Economics. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1954 - 1956 while stationed in Weisbaden, Germany. Bob and his wife Natalie (Creeden) were married on August 8, 1959 at Saint Patrick's Church in Brockton. He has been a Foxboro resident for the past 39 years. He began his career with the Social Security Administration in 1958 and retired in 1987 as the Area Director responsible for the Central, Western, and Southeastern MA and RI areas. Bob loved all sports, especially the BC Eagles, and was a lifelong fan. He was also an avid golfer and longtime member of the Foxborough Country Club. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough and enjoyed spending time with his family. Loving husband of Natalie Barry. Beloved father of Robert Barry of Mansfield, Kathleen Pelick of Foxboro and Susan Coughlan and her husband Steven of North Attleboro. Devoted grandfather of Paige and Haley Pelick and Megan and Katelyn Coughlan. Brother of Helen Barry of East Dennis and the late Rev. George Barry SJ. Brother in-law of Kathleen Creeden of Brockton and Uncle of Susan Cole and her three children of Harwichport. Funeral InformationRelatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, March 16, from 4-7 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 17, at 9 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., Foxborough. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxboro.
