Myrtle Murphy

Beloved Friend Foxborough – Myrtle Murphy, age 88, a resident of Emerald Court Golden Living in Norwood died on January 6, 2010 at Caritas Norwood Hospital. Born in Hyde Park on December 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Monish) Murphy.
Myrtle was a graduate of Hyde Park High School, Class of 1938 and worked as a bookkeeper and then as a cook for many years at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Millis, from which she retired at age 58. In her later years she was a long time resident of the Van Dora Nursing Home in Foxborough, until it’s closing . She is sweetly remembered by the Foxborough townsfolk and merchants as the lady with a twinkle in her eye and a smile for everyone as she ran daily errands for her nursing home friends. She attended the daily Mass and Rosary at St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough. She was a very special woman.
Myrtle was predeceased by her sister Geraldine Londergan and brothers Harold and Joseph Murphy. Ms. Murphy leaves her sister in law Lorraine Murphy, her niece Bertha Cassett and her husband Robert of Atkinson, NH, her nephew Paul Murphy and his wife Maritas and their son Michael of Seabrook, NH. In addition to her family members, she leaves dear friend Sheila Masterson of North Attleboro with whom she attended weekly Mass since leaving Foxborough in 2000.
Funeral Information
Calling hours are respectfully omitted. The funeral will begin at 8 am on Wednesday, January 13 at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxborough. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxborough. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
