Kenneth Karling

Foxborough-Kenneth Karling, age 81 died unexpectedly, but peacefully, at his home in Foxborough on November 6, 2008. Kenneth was the son of the late Wilhelm and Ellen (Gellar) Karling.

Kenneth was born in Braintree on April 5, 1927 and was a graduate of Braintree High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was a member of the Disabled War Veterans and was affiliated with St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Foxborough.

Kenneth retired in December of 1988 from the New England Harness Raceway in Foxborough. He worked for over 20 years for the raceway as a mechanic and later became a director and foreman. While working for the raceway he designed and built their starting gates. His new starting gates were installed at several other raceways in other states. He enjoyed carpentry, remodeling his home, keeping up his property and was an avid gardener. Race cars were his passion.

Beloved husband of Doye Moore Karling. Loving father of Joan Kadaras and her husband Kenneth of Littleton, Kenneth Karling Jr. of Quincy, Elaine Peirce and her husband Jeff of Derry, N.H., Donald Karling of Attleboro, Nancy Graham and her husband Joseph of California, Sandra Wehmeier and her husband Charles of Colorado, Signe' Murphy and her husband George of Foxborough, and Markus J. Moore and his fiance Debra Triolo of Warwick RI. Also survived by 11 Grandchildren, and 2 Great Grandchildren.
