Frances Christine Gentile Forbes, of Foxboro, MA and Naples, FL, age 63, died on Monday, September 10, 2007 at her home from complications caused by breast cancer, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family.

Frances was born on May 8, 1944 in Cardiff, Wales and graduated from the Canton Girls High School. After a series of secretarial positions in Cardiff, she became the secretary to the Agricultural Attaché in the American Embassy in London, England.

She came to America on January 8, 1968 with her husband, John E. Forbes who had served in the US Air Force. She graduated from Rhode Island Junior College and then from the University of Rhode Island in 1987, with a major in mathematics and a minor in computer science. She maintained a 3.2 grade average while raising four children.

Frances then taught herself computer programming and worked as a computer programmer and computer consultant until she started her own business, Royal Title, Inc. in May, 2004. Her interests included reading, knitting, sewing, tennis and making stained glass objects.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John E. Forbes, of the home, sons; John Brian Forbes of Tampa, FL, Matthew Edward Forbes of North Attleboro, MA, Daniel Patrick Forbes of Providence, RI, and by a daughter, Katherine Mary Forbes of Providence, RI,. She is also survived by four granddaughters. Beloved sister of Sean Kelly of Cardiff, Wales, Richard Kelly of Edinburgh, Scotland, Edward Kelly of Cardiff, Wales, and Virginia Pritchard of Cardiff, Wales.

She was preceded in death by her mother Sheila Kelly, of Ely, Cardiff, Wales and an infant sister, Katherine Kelly.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours Thursday, September 13, from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 14 at 9 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Foxboro.
