Kenneth Leo Goodwin Sr.

August 26, 1932 - October 12, 2006

Kenneth Leo Goodwin, Sr., age 74, of Foxboro, died at home on October 12, surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. Ken was the son of the late Lester John Goodwin Sr. and Violet (Carlson) Goodwin.

Ken was the beloved husband of forty-nine years to Joan (Boschen) Goodwin.

He is survived by two daughters: Nadine Spencer and her husband Bruce, Cheryl Suess and her husband Doug; three sons; Kenneth Goodwin, Jr. and his wife Donna, John Goodwin and his companion Cathy Miller and Lance Goodwin; all of Foxboro. A cherished grandfather to Troy, Taylor, Ty and Trace Spencer. Derek, Shannon and Patricia Suess and Danielle Suess Colby. Kara, Kenneth III and Katie Goodwin; Amy Bonner Goodwin; Louie Poncia and Katie Miller and great grandfather of Devan and Morgan Colby. Dear brother to his sister Frances Domanowski and his brother Lester Goodwin, Jr. of Foxboro. Also brother of the late Dorothy Stephens, Alma Conway, Violet Cutler, Effie Engley and Jean Jowett. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beloved coach of Foxboro Midget Football.

For over twenty-seven years Ken worked for the Foxboro Housing Authority and retired as Maintenance Supervisor in 2002.

Ken attended Foxboro Public Schools and was a Boy Scout Leader. He was a member of the American Legion Post 93. Member of the Foxboro Softball Association and the Foxboro Bowling League. Ken coached Foxboro Little League for many years, but his real passion was coaching Foxboro Midget Football for a span of over four decades, culminating in 2005 when the Field House at the Ernie George Memorial Field was named in his honor.
Ken was also a devoted fan of all of his grandchildren's school and sports activities; sometimes attending five events on any given day.

Ken proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.

Funeral Information

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, October 19 from 7 to 9 PM and Friday, October 20 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 21 at 11 am at St. Marks Episcopal Church, 116 South Street, Foxboro.
