Edward J. Gulzinski
October 28, 1919 - April 22, 2010
Retired Machinist and WWII Veteran Foxborough-Edward J. Gulzinski, age 90, died on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Epoch Senior Health Care of Norton. He was the son of the late John and Mary (Koslowski) Gulzinski.
Edward was born on October 28, 1919 in Hyde Park and was a graduate of Boston Trade High School. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. Edward and his wife Evelyn were married on September 18, 1955 at the Barton Chapel of the Bethany Congregational Church in Foxborough. He has been a resident of Foxborough since 1958.
Edward worked for thirty years as a machinist at the Boston Navel Ship Yard in Charlestown and then worked for the Foxboro Company until his retirement in 1981. In his retirement he worked part time for the American Auto Auction in Raynham.
A sports enthusiast, Edward at one time was a semi-pro baseball player and enjoyed golfing, bowling, target shooting and fishing. An artist, Edward was very good at painting, charcoal drawing and woodworking. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Beloved husband of Evelyn (Dixon) Gulzinski. Loving father of John and his wife Diane Gulzinski of Foxborough, Susan Baker of Florida, Marianne and her husband Jonathon Wingert of Maryland. Sister of Elizabeth Nowakowski of Connecticut. Devoted grandfather of Candice, Josh Baker, Daysha, Jeremy, Jenelle, Josh, Jaryn, Trenton, Lillianna and Austin.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, April, 25, from 1-4 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street in Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow with United States Air Force Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
