Eva (Hamilton) MacBurnie

December 18, 1927 - October 24, 2006

Devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Eva (Hamilton) MacBurnie, age 79, died on Tuesday October 24, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the daughter of the late Leon C. and Elsie (Young) Hamilton.

Eva was born on December 18, 1927 in Mansfield and has been a Foxboro resident for the past 60 years. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School class of 1946. She and her husband Ernie were married just after his discharge from the U.S. Army at the end of WWII. They were married at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Mansfield on October 26, 1946.

Eva was a homemaker for most of her life and after her children were grown she worked as a nurses aid at the Doolittle Home in Foxboro. She was a long time member of the Church of Emanuel in Foxboro were she was a former member of the choir and Sunday school teacher. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting local nursing homes to read to the elderly. She also loved to watch and feed birds at her home in Foxboro.

Beloved wife of Ernest F. MacBurnie. Loving mother of Cheryl Paine of Thetford Center, Vermont, Beverly McGee of Foxboro, Deborah MacBurnie of Mansfield, Elizabeth Andrews of Kennesaw, Geogia and the late Arthur Scott MacBurnie. Sister of Jeanette Carnie of Florida and the late Leon C. Hamilton. Jr. Devoted grandmother of Aaron, Debbie, Cindy, Daniel and Scott.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday October 27, from 6-8 PM at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30 South Street, Foxboro. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at the Church of Emanuel, Christian and Missionary Alliance 106 Central Street, Foxboro. Interment to follow at Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
