Roland Moore Holmes

Roland Moore Holmes, age 83, of Foxboro, a former long time resident of Quincy, died at the Caritas Norwood Hospital on Thursday, November 8, 2007. Roland was the son of the late Edgar and Alice (Moore) Holmes.

Roland was born on June 9, 1924 in Portland, Maine and was educated in Portland Public Schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy (Navy SeeBees) during WWII. Roland married Sarah Ann McLeod on April 17, 1948.

Roland worked as a baker for 19 years for the First National Stores until his retirement in June of 1986.

Beloved husband of Sarah Ann "Sally" Holmes of Foxboro. Loving father of Ginger Carvell of Coventry, CT, Douglas James Holmes of Foxboro, Andrew Paul Holmes of Weymouth and Adam Phillip Holmes of Quincy. Brother of the late Dot Botkin, Alta Madore and Guy Brown. Also survived by eight grand and nine great grandchildren.
