Foxborough-Leo Vincent Gleason, age 80, died on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. He was the son of the late John F. and Mary E. (Driscoll) Gleason. Leo was born on April 6, 1928 in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School, Class of 1945. Leo proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII. Leo and his wife Jean were married in St. Joseph’s Church in East Boston on August 1, 1953. Leo played semi pro baseball in the Nova Scotia League in 1948-49. He graduated from Boston University in 1953. After graduating from BU Leo taught science and math for West Bridgewater Jr. and Sr. High Schools where he was also the High School baseball coach. Leo was employed by the former Marsh and Mclennon Company and retired as Sr. Vice President for Johnson and Higgans Insurance Company in Boston in 1995. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Beloved husband of Jean F. (Hesenius) Gleason. Loving father of Leo F. and his wife Michelle of Foxborough, Mark J. of Foxborough, James J. of Philadelphia, Kathleen M. and her husband David Reilly of Norfolk, Mary E. Gleason of CA and John A. and his wife Dawn of MD. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral InformationFriends and relatives are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday August 25, from 4-8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home 30 South St. in Foxborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 AM on Tues. at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., in Foxborough.
