Retired Registered Nurse Arline C. (Donahue) Richards, RN. Age 89, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family.
Arline was born in Quincy on November 28, 1917. She was a native of East Walpole and a 1935 graduate of Walpole High School. She and her husband Preston where married at St. Mary’s Church in East Walpole in 1941. They have been Foxboro residents since 1952.
Arline was a graduate of Mt. Auburn Hospital Nursing School in Cambridge, Class of 1939. She worked at various area medical facilities including the former Pondville Hospital in Norfolk, Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro and the Charwell House in Norwood. She was a practicing nurse up until she was 72.
Arline was a true caregiver and truly loved her nursing profession. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her husband and family. She also enjoyed Birds and her flower gardens that where lovingly cared for by her devoted husband.
She was the cherished wife and solemate of Preston “Stub” Richards. Beloved mother of Gail and her husband Larry Bearce of Foxboro, Joe Richards and his wife Margie Plainville, Kathleen and her husband Bruce Ciulla of Foxboro, Eileen Spooner and her mate Normand Giguere of Blackstone. Donna and her Husband Dennis Laverty of Plainville and Charlene and her husband Jeff Cothran of Orlando, FL. Devoted Grandmother of Michael, Mark and Matthew Bearce, Tracy Turke, Joseph and Jeffrey Richards, Christine, Brian, Bruce, Mary and John Ciulla, Melissa Souza, Danielle and Ryan Spooner and Stephen, Scott, Shawn and Patrick Laverty. Also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, June 7, from 4-8 at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home 30, South Street, Foxboro. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday June 8, at 9 AM at the St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St., Foxboro. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Foxboro.
