Margaret Anne Barton Cook, age73, of New Boston, NH died December 7, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was the daughter of the late Arnold DeForrest and Angelina (Fraser) Barton. Mrs. Cook was born in Jamaica Plain on December 16, 1931. She attended Sharon Public Schools from grades 1-8 and was a graduate of Gould Academy of Bethel, Maine. She then earned her BS in Elementary Education in the 1950s at Lesley College and her Masters in Education at Bridgewater State College in the mid 1960s. Mrs. Cook was a former longtime teacher in the Foxboro Public School System including the Foxboro Jr. High School, the Lewis School and the Burrell School as well as kindergarten school at the Bethany Congregational Church of Foxboro. She retired from teaching in 1994 from the Burrell School in Foxboro after 38 years of service. She also worked in the 1960’s as a summer camp councilor at the Booth Playground and at Camp Aloha Hive in Fairlee, VT in the 1970s. Devoted mother of Carol Cook Kennedy and her husband Christopher of Vineyard Haven, MA and Charles Barton Cook and his wife Michaeleen of Waterville Valley, NH. Devoted grandmother of Kathryn Amanda Kennedy and Benjamin Jee Kennedy both of Vineyard Haven and Christopher DeForrest Kennedy of Chicopee. Loving sister of Arnold DeForrest Barton, Jr of Yalesville, CT and Carol Barton Neubauer of Carver, MA. Dear Friend of Gloria Chandler of New Boston, NH. Also survived by five nephews and one niece. Funeral InformationRelatives and friend are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday December 12, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Roberts & Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am at the Bethany Congregational Church, 3 Rockhill Street, Foxboro. A private interment service will held at a later date.
