Devoted and Loving Wife Mother and Grandmother
Foxborough – Joan Marie (Cunningham) Jarvis, age 74, died May 18, 2010 at her home surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late William and Marion (Harrington) Cunningham.
Joan was born on May 30, 1935 in Boston and was a graduate of Roslindale High School, Class of 1953. She and her husband John were married in W. Roxbury on November 24, 1956. She has been a Foxborough resident for the past fifty years.
Joan was a bank teller for many years at the Foxborough Savings Bank until her retirement in 2000. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling, playing bingo with her friends and was a life long Boston Red Sox fan. She enjoyed spending time with her husband during the winter months in Melbourne, FL and spending time with her family.
Beloved wife of John C. Jarvis. Loving mother of John “Jack” W. Jarvis and his wife Catherine of Wrentham, Patricia and her husband James Simonson of Raynham and Peter and his wife Yvette of Norfolk. Also survived by four adoring grandchildren. Loving sister of William Cunningham of Manhattan, NY and the late Margaret Bird and John Cunningham.
Funeral Information
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Friday, May 21 from 4 to 8 pm at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 22 at 10 am at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter Street, Foxborough. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
