Joan J. Richardson

Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Foxborough-Joan J. Richardson, age 74, died on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Warren and Mary (Thornton) Davis.

Joan was born on February 13, 1935 in South Boston. She was a longtime resident of Lynn and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Class of 1953. She and her husband William were married in Lynnfield.

Joan worked for several years as an inspector for Sylvania in Peabody. A former nanny, Joan loved children and always seemed much younger than her actual age. She enjoyed long walks with her husband and was an avid traveler. She also enjoyed frequent trips to Disney World in Orlando with her family. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Beloved wife of William J. Richardson. Loving mother of Linda and her husband Darrell Keating of Templeton and James M. Richardson of Foxborough. Devoted grandmother of Kerry Bamrick, Julie Giorlando, Chris Keating and the late John O’Connell Jr. Sister of Beverly Daggett, Nora Toothaker and Ellie Flavin.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Monday, March 2, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St. in Foxborough center. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9AM at St. Mary’s Church, Carpenter St. in Foxborough. Interment service to follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
